Jesus' imperative in Mark 16:15-16 is this; v15 And He said to them, "Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation.  16 "He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; NASU

His own ministry was occupied with preaching. Luke 4:16 And He came to Nazareth, where He had been brought up; and as was His custom, He entered the synagogue on the Sabbath, and stood up to read. 17 And the book of the prophet Isaiah was handed to Him. And He opened the book and found the place where it was written,

18 "THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD IS UPON ME,
BECAUSE HE ANOINTED ME TO PREACH THE GOSPEL TO THE POOR.
HE HAS SENT ME TO PROCLAIM RELEASE TO THE CAPTIVES,
AND RECOVERY OF SIGHT TO THE BLIND,
TO SET FREE THOSE WHO ARE OPPRESSED,
19 TO PROCLAIM THE FAVORABLE YEAR OF THE LORD." NASU


He sent His disciples out to preach. Mark 3:14 And He appointed twelve, so that they would be with Him and that He could send them out to preach, NASU
Paul's deep conviction was that God had called him to preach. Acts 16:10
10 When he had seen the vision, immediately we sought to go into Macedonia, concluding that God had called us to preach the gospel to them. NASU
Further, he said that he was compelled to preach. 1 Cor 9:16 For if I preach the gospel, I have nothing to boast of, for I am under compulsion; for woe is me if I do not preach the gospel. NASU
His instruction to Timothy was to preach the word. 2 Tim 4:2-3 preach the word; be ready in season and out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort, with great patience and instruction. NASU

The Church exists for two reasons: One, to lead people to Christ, and two, to keep them for Christ. Following the challenge of the great commission, we are to teach them how to become Christians, baptize them, and continue to teach them how to remain and grow as Christians. Our tool to accomplish this task is the Word of God. Our method is preaching and teaching.
Because we share Jesus' burden for lost souls, we take seriously the Apostle Paul's words in Romans 10:14 How then will they call on Him in whom they have not believed? How will they believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how will they hear without a preacher? 15 How will they preach unless they are sent? NASU

At Garner Church of Christ you will hear the Gospel preached and taught. If you are a seeker, you will learn how to become a Christian. If you are already a follower of Christ you will be fed on the Word so that you can continue to grow in your spiritual life.
